In the increasingly deteriorating global economic environment and fierce market competition, more and more companies are choosing cheaper wires. Can cheaper two core wires be used for connecting sensors?

1. Structural differences
-The quantity and function of wires:
Two core wire: composed of live wire (L) and neutral wire (N), without grounding wire, with a simple structure.
Three core wire: Add ground wire (E/GND) to form a combination of live wire, neutral wire, and ground wire, providing grounding protection.
-Color identification:
Three core wires are usually distinguished by brown (live wire), blue (neutral wire), and yellow green (ground wire), while two core wires only contain the first two colors.

2. Purpose and Applicable Scenarios
-Two core wire:
Used for 220V single-phase circuits, such as small appliances or temporary equipment, in environments with low safety requirements.
-Three core wire
Suitable for 380V three-phase circuits or single-phase circuits that require grounding, more commonly found in industrial/commercial/public places.

3. Security and Load Capacity
-Security:
The three core wire discharges leakage current through the ground wire, significantly reducing the risk of electric shock; Two core wires do not have this function, which poses a safety hazard.
-Load and heat dissipation:
Under the same cross-sectional area, three core wires have slightly lower load capacity than two core wires due to slower heat dissipation; But when three single core cables are used in parallel, the load is higher.

4. Other differences
Cost: Three core wires are more expensive due to their complex structure.
Electromagnetic interference: Three core ground wire can suppress interference and improve equipment stability.

When selecting, it is necessary to make a comprehensive judgment based on voltage requirements (single-phase/three-phase), safety standards (whether grounding is required), and load conditions. Three core wires are preferred for high safety scenarios.

Sensors need to ensure anti-interference, stability, and safety during use in order to measure accurate values through sensors. So using three core wires is a better choice for sensors.
